I've formed an alliance with Scottbob. Actually did it with out
his OK. But, what the heck. Life isn't always fare/fair. And that's
what I mean. Lot's of folks would know whether it's fare or fair,
but they didn't go into that at Man's Best Friend University. And
that's where Scottbob comes in. I'm placing the caches and He's
going to provide some wisdom relative to the cache location.
They'll all be roads and he hopes they'll be roads named after
people. This one might be a little tough for him to come up with
anything. I think the road is called Silo Road because there was a
Silo at the end of it. If you'll turn around and face north. I
believe there was a Silo right at the T in the road about 500 feet
north of where you're standing.
While we are waiting for Scottbob to come with something
intelligent, dwell on this for awhile: Barnum's Animals (commonly
know as Animal Crackers) were first produced with a string on the
box so they could be used a Christmas tree ornaments. And now you
know.
Scottbob's word's of wisdom:
Nope, no silo settlers to be found in early Arlington, but I
found a page where a family had converted two grain silos into a
home.
The main thing I know about silos is they are either for storing
grain or missiles. Plows or swords; it goes way back.
I have an adventurous friend who last year, with her daughter,
climbed a silo that had been hosed down with water in a cold
climate so that it was a completely vertical ice climb. Apparently
they are good for more than just storage.
After reading Scottbobs verbage. Hikeaday now thinks there was a
secret Silo at the end of the road that hid a Minuteman Missle.
That's possible, don't ya think?
