Seventh and last of the circuit of caches around Halfpenny
The path through the woods finally breaks cover by an old rusty shed and drops back down to the A65 via a couple of stiles and a gate. The Ash in question is practically straddling a wall above the stile and one of its limbs lies in the field next door. Here demon #4 nearly lost the cache down a couple of possible cache hides and he assures me the tree has been struck by lightning and that’s why Mr Fox and his family have moved out. However Foxes Lair was rejected as the cache name in favour of the Smashed Ash moniker.
From here, the gate back onto the A65 is visible and after turning right through it, only a few strides further downhill leads you back to the Millennium Cross. Hope you enjoyed these caches as much as we did setting them.
