Geocache Description:

On the Road to Kingsriver Estate

Established in 1838, and one of the oldest farms in the region, the Kingsriver Estate Vineyard is situated in the Breede River Valley - an area of remarkable beauty and tranquillity. Nestled in the Langeberg mountains, the estate comprises of some 30 hectares of vineyards and is surrounded by 380 hectares of magnificent unspoiled Karoo Fynbos, hiding on Route 62, between the historical villages of McGregor and Robertson, a region known for its exceptional terroir by ‘Winemakers in the Know’.

After visiting the cache, drop in at Kingsriver and enquire about their "Adopt a vine" program, where you can adopt your own row of vines, and make and bottle your own barrel of Shiraz, Ruby Cabernet or your very own unique blend.

We have adopted a vine, and are currently in the process of making our own wine. Future plans for this cache may include collecting a free bottle of wine from our stash - watch this space.
