Im Jahr 2009 feierte die Stadt Rastatt ihr 925jähriges Stadtjubiläum. Grund genug, wieder einen Blick auf die Geschichte der Stadt zu werfen. Das Thema dieses Caches kann nicht ganz so weit in die Vergangenheit zurückblicken: die ehemalige Bundesfestung Rastatt. Vielerorts in Rastatt lassen sich noch Überbleibsel dieser imposanten Befestigungsanlage finden. Der Cache befindet sich beim verbliebenen Gebäude der Bastion XI, das sich heute im Stadtpark von Rastatt befindet. Unweit (ca. 50m) davon befindet sich in nordöstlicher Richtung das "Kehler Tor" der Festung, das man auch gut von der Strasse (B3 / B36) sehen kann. Im von vielen alten Bäumen überschatteten Stadtpark gibt es einen Spielplatz und einen See, in dem man auch Modellboote fahren lassen kann.	En 2009 la ville de Rastatt a célébré son 925ième anniversaire. C'est un bon motif pour jeter un regard sur l'histoire de la ville. Le sujet de la cache ne peut pas regarder en arrière si loin: la forteresse de Rastatt. Partout en Rastatt on peut trouver des restes de cette fortification imposante. La cache se trouve au batiment resté du bastion XI, qui est situé aujourd'hui dans le parc municipal. Pas loin (env. 50m) en direction nord-est il y a la "porte de Kehl" de la forteresse, qu' on peut voir bien de la rue (B3 / B36). Dans le parc municipal qui est assombri des vieux arbres on trouve un aire de jeu et un lac où on peut naviguer des bateaux miniatures.	In 2009 the city of Rastatt celebrated its 925th anniversary. This is a good reason to have a look at the history of the city. The topic of this cache cannot look back that far to the past: the former fortress of Rastatt. At many locations in Rastatt you can still find relicts of this impressive fortification. The cache can be found at the remaining building of bastion XI that is situated in the municipal park nowadays. Not far away (about 50m) in north-eastern direction the "Kehl gate" of the fortress can be seen. It can also be viewed from the street (B3 / B36). In the municipal park that is covered by old trees there is a playground and a lake where one can navigate with his model ship.

"Die Halbbastion bildete den Anschluß an das Kehler Tor. Heute ist noch ein Schutzraum unter dem Wall im Stadtpark erhalten. Die Bastion XI ist eines der wenigen Gebäude, die durch Absinken schnell schadhaft und nach 1850 umgebaut wurde.
