Geocache Description:

A SILVER AMMO BOX PLACED IN RECOGNITION OF COMMANDERUSN'S 1000 FOUND CACHES ON APRIL 4TH 2009!

Please allow CommanderUSN the honor of FTF on this cache!

When logging this cache, share a CommanderUSN story if you can. Maybe you've cached with him, met him along the trail or at an event, or have enjoyed some of the many hides he has placed for others to find.

The Silver Ammo Can recognizing cachers with 1000 finds appears to have started in Illinois. The tradition has expanded into areas of the LaCrosse area and around NW Wisconsin, with a few in Iowa and Minnesota and now a first (we think) in the Madison area! Keeping with the silver theme, this cache started with silver colored swag items.

This cache is located on the popular Military Ridge State Trail. A trail pass is required for all people age 16 or older biking, in-line skating, or cross-country skiing on certain designated trails. (A trail pass is not required for hiking.) Horseback riding on this trail is not permitted.

The difficulty rating is an "average" based on muggle activity. PLEASE BE WATCHFUL for muggle bikers, joggers and drivers as you retrieve this cache as certain times of the day can be very busy and they could see you from many different directions! Please come back another time if the trail is so busy you cannot log this find! A SILVER AMMO CAN IS HARD TO CAMOUFLAGE! IT HAS A VERY SPECIFIC HIDING LOCATION. PLEASE REPLACE IN THAT SPECIFIC LOCATION to keep out of the hands of muggles! Thank you!
