Geocache Description:

**** SEE "NOTE" at bottom of description before logging!

This cache is being placed in honor of Ada Lucas, grandmother of good friends of ours. Ada passed away in March 2008, and is buried in the cemetery in which this cache resides.

According to family members, Ada was a loving, giving, caring, woman with more then a touch of bluntness thrown in for good measure. She enjoyed cooking for her family each Sunday, and was a woman of very strong Christian faith. While she is missed very much, her example of good character and her spirit of selflessness live on in all those who knew and loved her – and those traits will be passed on for generations to come.

Please be sure to take a walk around the cemetery before or after finding the cache, and please make sure to be respectful and quiet while walking around and hunting for the cache. Not only because of what it is, but because of where it is.

Be sure to bring a pen, the cache is large enough for a log only. PLEASE be careful not to push the log sheet back in too far at all and rehide just as found! Hints provided, but please try to find it without them first.

To get to the cemetery from 119 – turn up Smith Farm Road and go through an “s” turn till you see the cemetery over the hill to the left. At this point you will be .10 of a mile away from the cache according to your GPS. We strongly suggest that you do NOT drive any further unless you have a vehicle that can handle major mud that could be there. Also, be careful turning around and parking as the ground may be very soft.

This is the 5th in our series of cemetery caches. This is the first one of these that the whole team worked on. I came up with the idea – teammate came up with the name – and the youngest chose the hiding spot.

While taking the final coordinates reading and placing the cache container itself, on what was a cool, damp, peaceful Sunday afternoon, I spotted a beautiful deer nearby. It looked at me – and I at it – and it ran off quietly through the cemetery grounds – its large white tail on proud display.

NOTE BEFORE LOGGING: While you do NOT have to do this to log a find, we STRONGLY URGE YOU to include on your online entry a little bit about someone special you have known who has passed away. Consider what YOU would have written in paragraph 2 above if YOU had hidden the Cache and named it “Honoring ____”

The FTF prize is $ 2.00 – enough for a tank of gas on the day the cache was placed. Actually, the closest gas station price was – I think - $1.98 – but their sign was broken, but that was the price at a similar station in the area.
