ST. THOMAS CEMETERY
St. Thomas is one of six communities inundated by the filling of Lake Mead. As the lake filled, the cemetery was relocated to its current location, so it would not be under water. The community was founded by Mormon settlers in 1865, and was reoccupied in the early 1880s, after the Mormon exodus in 1870 following the realization the area was in Nevada. The last residents of St. Thomas were forced from their homes by rising water in 1938.

The cemetery holds the remains of many early residents of the former town, as well as being actively used for burials today for families who previously lived in the community. As it is an active cemetery, visitors are asked to show respect and not damage the graves or headstones.
