One of a series of cache n' dashes on the A9. Bring a pencil!
The A9 Trunk Road runs from Edinburgh to Thurso and is the main highway to the Highlands. This series of caches is located at various points along its length and parking for each will be very apparent. Please do not attempt to park anywhere else and under no circumstances should you stop on the carriageway. The general direction you need to be travelling in order to attempt a cache is mentioned in the cache title. If you need to turn around, please do so at one of the main junctions. The caches are not suitable for dogs and children should be kept under strict supervision.
The laybys north of Perth are all numbered and this is number 13. You would think it would be an easy enough job to number them all, but no, mistakes were made. Two laybys have the same number and another layby doesn't exist!
The views to the forested hills along the road ahead of you are great seen from this location, especially in Autumn where the different shades of golds are fantastic. A wee scramble up the banking is required here to retrieve the cache, which is a 35mm container. Be careful on the way back down as well, since many a fine cacher has ended up on their A9's due to the slippery slope!
Watch out when you leave, as there's a speed camera up ahead!
