The Cache is not at the initial co-ordinates given. We believe the
term used for the type of Cache is a 'Multi Cache', but it's got a
hint of 'Mystery Cache' to it (apparently ;) ) Just don’t try to do
it outside of opening hours – you will get all the clues figured
out, but won’t get to the actual cache!!
Those hours are: Mon 9am - 8pm
Tue Noon - 8pm
Wed 9am - 8pm
Thu Noon - 8pm
Fri 9am - 5pm
Sat 9am - Noon
Sun 2pm - 5pm
We have tried to make it challenging – and as such haven’t
wanted to make clues too straightforward or easy - hopefully some
of the more experienced Cachers will get a kick out of it as much
as the newer ones might.
Difficulty rating is as much a reflection of muggle factor as it is
anything else!
TaylorBrats boy (14yo) worked out the co-ordinate, and puzzles,
but struggled to make the mental leap needed to figure out where to
apply that information. Hopefully it will be apparent to most when
you're there.
Cross fingers, here we go!
The initial co-ordinates are: S 37° 40.939’ E144° 55.119’
Once here, you need to stop and look around.
Number of:
Bubblers = A
Return slots = B
Flags = C
Red words = D
Trees in the square = E
Light posts by the ramp = F
Benches = G
Columns by the newspaper = H
Languages other than English = I
Individual bins = J
Fuzzy trees = K
Second stop: S OP° QR.STU’ E 144° VW.XYZ’
Where OP = F² + A
QR = E x H
S = I
TU = (D x J) – B
VW = E x (K - A)
XY = B x G Z = C + D
Then: At these co-ordinates, you will come to a sign (you will
need to stand on the southern side of this sign, looking
north-ish). Use this to help you solve the dashes on the next part
of the puzzle, but for the letters, use the ones you worked out
previously:
1st dash = 4th letter, of the 1st word, in the 4th locale.
2nd dash = 6th letter, 1st word, 2nd locale.
3rd dash = 5th letter, 1st word, 1st locale.
4th dash = 4th letter, 2nd word, 5th locale.
5th dash = 2nd letter, 3rd word, 4th locale.
6th dash = 4th letter, 2nd word, 3rd locale.
_ _ _ I D I . E A B _ _ _ - Use this to locate the cache.
After all that, and some cryptic clues, it’s probably time to
relax in the library with a good book and some Nana
Mouskouri.
You might even ask Mon, Mario and cohorts from HGLC how Athens was
in the decade of the 60’s! Good luck!
Cache was planted with the following inside: Pen, Logbook, FTF
bookmark, 7 other cache inspired bookmarks, bubbles, Living End
badge, dice & a crane (made from discarded cache material!)
