Geocache Description:

This is one of three caches along the Calloway Creek Trail in McDonald Forest:

Calloway Creek Trail (GC1NXG1)
Calloway Creek (GC1NXG2)
Calloway Creek Bonus (GC1NXG3)

The total round-trip hike for all three caches is approximately 1.5 miles. It is easy and family-friendly.

In order to find this cache, look for and use the coordinates written in blue ink upon the inside of the other two cache lids.

You are looking for a small plastic Lock-and-Lock container. There is room for VERY SMALL trackables (geocoins). After you have signed the log, please make sure that the lid is tightly snapped shut, and hide the container carefully using natural camo as you found it. Watch out for muggles... this can be a very busy trail.

Although I did my best to ensure the accuracy of these coordinates, you may experience some drift due to tree cover. There is no need to take more than one step off the trail to retrieve the container. NO BUSHWHACKING IS REQUIRED!

Poison Oak note: This vile plant grows alongside sections of the Calloway Creek Trail. However, there is none anywhere near this geocache. If you see any while searching for the cache, you are looking in the wrong place! (If you are not sure how to identify poison oak, look here.)

*** IMPORTANT *** This cache has been placed with the express permission of the McDonald Forest Recreation Manager. This area is open from dawn to dusk. Refer to the parking waypoint for the best spot to begin your trek. If you are not familiar with this area, walk up the gravel road approximately 0.4 mile and turn left onto the trail. Bikes are allowed on the road year-round, but are only permitted on this trail between April 15th and October 31st.

Congratulations to Autumn yellow Met-61 for being FTF!
