Geocache Description:

The Mabry-Hazen House has a rich history that spans three generations of the same family who lived here from 1865-1987. While it is unique that the original furniture and other possessions of these individuals remain in the house, it is the stories about these people that bring it to life. The Civil War, a gunfight on Gay Street in 1882, and a Breach of Promise lawsuit in the early 1930's are only a few stories that bring color and fascination to this historic house.

The house, built in 1854, served as headquarters to both Union and Confederate forces at various times during the Civil War, and the cache sits within feet of where trenchworks once defended the site.

The cache is a small lock and lock container with room for small items, but BYOP. It is placed with the permission of the live-in director and caretaker.
