Geocache Description:

The Lilyvale Oval was once a Cheese factory. This is the second in the Meringandan history series

The Mid 1920s saw hustle and bustle in the Lilyvale Valley and Meringandan district. The district was a thriving dairy farming area with all the amenities. It had a school (“schools out for ever - (MHS1)”) and a copshop and Jail. I thrived with activity facilitated by a rail service with passengers and freight.

Looking across the road you will see an old Farm house (white with Green roof), and the remnant of one of the old dairies ...This was one of many dairies that serviced the Cheese factory that once stood on this site. Sadly like the School it has long since gone.

Remaining on the site of the Old Lilyvale Cheese Factory (1926-1965) is this local recreation area…The Lilyvale oval.

The Lilyvale Oval, is now home to the annual Meringandan Rodeo. A great fun event to be enjoyed by the whole family with Rides for the Kids, a Coffee van and cowboyz to look at for the Mums and the Bar Tent for the Dads…not to mention some of the best Bronch and Bull riders (Cowboys and cowgirls) that the Queensland has on show.

The park is open 24/7 , has ample parking and has a sheltered picnic table, and a playground for the kids. There are toilets onsite and fresh drinking rainwater. During summer it has Cricket on most Saturdays, and in mid December the local Christmas Carols are held in on the oval.

On to the Cache….
I have had nice feedback on my first sneaky hide “Nut your average Nut”. I thought I would step it up a notch with this incredibly sneaky hide.

Just believe your GPS and add 5m2 radius to the coordinates incase my original lock was out a bit.

This is a Micro...A lolly tin half the size of an Eclipse tin.
It is not underground , but is hidden well. Please Bring a Pencil/pen

PLEASE CAREFULLY REPLACE THE CACHE THE WAY YOU FOUND IT...ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
