Geocache Description:


There is a grave of Nichiren who is the founder of Nichiren sect.

Nichiren came to Mt. Minobu in 1274 and built the Kuon-temple.
He devoted the life to the apprentice' educations here since then.

"Even if I will die where, stand a grave to Mt. Minobu"
Remains to be buried under Mt. Minobu according to this will.

Cache is in the northeast of the grave of Nichiren.
Please see the grave of Nichiren when you visit.

日蓮宗の開祖である日蓮上人の墓があります。

日蓮上人は1274年に身延山に入山し久遠寺を建立しました。
それ以来、ここで法華経の読誦と門弟たちの教育に生涯をささげたそうです。
1282年に両親の墓参のために山を下り、その途中、61歳の生涯を終えました。

「いづくにて死に候とも墓をば身延山に立てさせ給へ」

この遺言通り、遺骨は身延山に埋けられているのだそうです。
