ABA Parade Route - Banner Carriers Traditional Cache
OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Ever since I was a newborn, my parents would take me to Ashland (where they both grew up) for Labor Day Weekend to watch the Ashland Boys Association (ABA) Mummers Parade. Now, all of my kids have also attended the parade, but our moving around the country with the US Army has prevented our regular attendance in recent years.
Unfortunately, we will miss the parade again this year, and we have heard that the ABA Mummers Parade is in danger of being discontinued in the very near future. This would be a shame since it has been an Ashland tradition for well over 100 years.
We placed this series of 10 caches all along the parade route: from where the units form up on Walnut Street near 3rd Street, up to 21st Street, and all along Centre Street down to Front Street. The names of the caches are inspired by some of the regular units and some of our fondest memories of the Ashland Labor Day Parade. I was forced to reduce the number of caches in this series to 7 in order to get them published.
You are looking for extremely small magnetic containers. You will likely need tweezers to remove the logs from the containers. Please place them back exactly as you found them. Some may be harder to see than others. Also, some of the coordinates may be off a bit as I had trouble getting very accurate GPS readings at a few of the hide locations. Please feel free to post your coords if you feel like mine are off by a significant distance.
Good luck, have fun, and please be stealthy to avoid these caches from being muggled.
I was one of the banner carriers for 2 or 3 years, back when I was a young boy. I was happy just to be in the parade, but then I found out that I was getting paid also! I think I made $5 or $10 which was enough to buy a plastic pirate sword, some bang-snaps, or one of those long obnoxious horns from one of the several street vendors that descend upon the Burrow of Ashland during Labor Day weekend.
Congratulations to Dig Teamsters and Fritzi_42 for the co-FTF!
