Suggested free residential street parking at N 38 34.417 W 121 20.906. Park, enter through the Parkway’s pedestrian access (no motor vehicles), and hike to cache on flat, graveled, cultural feature constructed (improved) in 2008 to provide flood protection for residential neighborhood nearby. No bushwhacking needed.
Trail Over Mayhew Drain
Excellent views of the American River and its extensive flora and fauna abound. They are not easily spotted, but even deer, mountain lions, beavers, and other mammals have appeared along the Parkway, along with the many species of waterfowl.
Cache container has been changed to a micro (12/30/10), and contains a log only, no pen. So please bring your own writing stick and sign the logbook. Failure to do so may result in your online Found It log being deleted.
