Geocache Description:

This cache in on the Cope Hollow Trail in the Deam Wilderness. Trails lead to within 100 yards of the cache. It is near the Geiger Ridge Pond. You can park at the Blackwell Horse camp at N39 01.094 W86 23.342. The trailhead is on the east side of the camp.

I have been wanting to see the Geiger Ridge Pond for awhile now. It is one of the bigger ponds in this area. So today I loaded a cache in my backpack and off I went.
I have spent most of my hiking time on the north side of Tower Ridge road preferring the lake scenery. I saw that was a mistake today. This area has some of the oldest growth pine forest I have seen. It also has excellent trails and the cleanest creeks around. My dog thought so, she guzzled about a gallon of creek water during our hike. I jumped a big herd of deer and saw a dozen squirrels playing like they were celebrating springtime. The Cope Hollow Trail is an excellent hiking area.
The cache is in a ammo can hidden within easy walking distance of the Geiger Ridge Pond. It is full of new trade items. Please re-hide it carefully. The woods will soon be full of mushroom hunters.
