Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches in a beautiful, unique, and under-utilized section of Newaygo County.

The Coolbough Natural Area is a 400 acre preserve managed by The Nature Conservancy and the Coolbough Natural Areas Environmental Commission. The diversity of habitats is one of the features of the Coolbough Natural Areas that makes any visit an exciting trip. Visitors have the chance to explore ponds and wetlands, hike through white pine and white oak forest, search for butterflies and wildflowers on prairie and barrens remnants, and listen to the bubbling waters of Bigelow and Coolbough Creeks. While you are probably most interested in the caches, don’t forget to look up from your gpsr to take in the beauty of this place! The trails are not perfectly marked, so remember to mark your car so you can find your way back should you become disoriented! Also, hunting is permitted so be prepared or simply avoid the area during deer season!

This cache should be an easy find, and has been moved from the original location. You no longer will need to worry about the cactus!! If you plan to search for the “Bonus” cache of this series, don’t forget to take note of the colored letter inside the cache container! There is a first to find prize as well!!
