The Mayor of Bowling Green, the Bowling Green Town Council, and the
Bowling Green Town Staff invite you to experience one of Virginia's
most historic communities. Bowling Green is located in the center
of beautiful Caroline County, Virginia at the intersection of State
Routes 301, 207, and 2 and just eleven miles due east of Exit 104
on Interstate Highway 95. The Town of Bowling Green is situated
adjacent to Fort A. P. Hill, a U.S. Army installation and training
facility, on its Northeast boundary. Located just 15 miles to the
South off Route 301 is The Meadow Event Park which hosts the State
Fair of Virginia along with other events throughout the year.
Take a walk along our tree-lined streets. Stroll through the
historic district and see the Colonial and Victorian homes. Visit
the Civil War Trails sites and view Sidney King’s Union Occupation
Mural on the lawn of the 1835 Jeffersonian Courthouse. Dine at one
of the restaurants, shop with the merchants, and spend the night at
one of the inns. As you arrive in and depart our Town, take
advantage of driving along the historic Washington-Rochambeau Route
of September 1781.
