Geocache Description:

This is certainly NOT a quick Cache and Dash, but a multi Cache which gives you a great walk out to Hurst Castle, on the Hampshire coast towards the Isle of Wight. Along the gravel spit which gives wonderful views to the Island, up the Solent and across the bays towards Bournemouth and the Purbeck Hills. Also gives you the chance to visit this Tudor Castle, and enjoy the ferry boat trip back to Keyhaven if you wish after finding your Cache.

Please note this cache is hidden with the knowledge of the local warden.

HURST CASTLE, low and menacing on its single spit, is the most powerful of defences established since the sixteenth century to guard the western entrance to the Solent. The Tudor Castle, built between 1541 and 1544, was extensively modernised during the Napoleonic wars. Its defences were updated again in the 1850s and most spectacularly in the 1860s and 1870s by the addition of the two massive casemated wings which dominate their surroundings. The Castle was garrisoned in both world wars.
Visitors today can see the Tudor Castle, where there is an exhibition in the north-west bastion on the defences of this area, and parts of the Victorian west wing. The Victorian east wing is not open but can be viewed from the top of the Tudor Castle.

The Castle is open daily from April to September from 10:30am until 5:30pm. -- October 10:30am until 4:00pm -- and in the Winter months only open at weekends weather permitting
ENTRY CHARGES :: Adult £3:50, Child £2:20 Senior £3:20
The Castle has a Cafe, so a good place to sit and work out the final placement.

Visit the Web Site :::: www.hurstcastle.co.uk for more info.

The Ferry goes back & forth to the Castle (adult single £3:00 child single £2:00) from your first Waypoint, so check times as you pass by.

The Grid Above is for the Public Car Park in the village of Keyhaven, its a pay and display Car Park with charges from 1st April until 31st October each year. Its includes a Public Conveniences, and it opposite "The Gun Inn", well worth a visit after completing this Cache. (There are a few parking places without charges along the dead end road just north of the main car park).

At the start of your walk at CLUE 1 "a" the sign for the Kestrels phone number has now been remove so I have had to give the answer to this question see the require waypoint.
Also have given the answer to CLUE 13 "p" as sign hard to read.
So give yourself a few hours and a fine sunny day and enjoy your walk, Please take extra care when collect the waypoints along the way that you read the question to make sure you then get the right answer. Then when all collected solve the answer to finding the final cache.

A Calculator would be handy tool to take with you on this Cache
Please check that the FINAL part with puzzle is on list, and not 'hidden' by mistake which has happen. it is not intended to be hidden.

PLEASE take extra care when retrieving and replacing the cache (which is a black 1:5 litre clip top box) This can be a high muggle area on a summer weekend, so please ensure the cache is back out of sight before you leave.
Also as this cache is near the coast, please if possible make any swap items with the Theme of the Sea.
