Geocache Description:

"Sa scala 'e s'Acca" is an ancient mine. It is placed a few meters from the waterfall of "Su Strumpu" into a region called"Minderrì"( territory of San Vito).

"Sa scala 'e s'Acca" è uno dei tanti siti minerari dismessi nel territorio di San Vito e si trova nel cuore dell'altopiano di "Minderrì" a pochi metri dalla cascata di "Su Strumpu"
Per arrivarci dovrete addentrarvi lungo valli, canyon, valichi e paesaggi mozzafiato.

This cache gives its best during fall and spring !
Cache is hidden a few meters from the waterfall of "Su Strumpu" near an old mine called "Sa scala 'e s'Acca".
To find it you should cross the valley of Minderrì , a very suggestive place.
Keep in mindthough that if you do not havean SUV or a jeep is recommended to parkthe vehicle at the point P1 as the road could be very dirty.
The path is in fact much appreciated by lovers of bike-trek as expected sometimes very challenging. The full path to the cache until the state 387 is approximately 8.6 km and is available here

The first section includes 5 km of paved road leading to a secular ilex share 91m.Quest 'area is well equipped for picnics.
From here begins a steep climb and the dirt road.
After 1.2 km at an altitude of 239m there is an intersection. Go straight to the south.
Other routes 1.8 km you will come to Arcu Battesarra, a viewpoint at an altitude of 377m.
The last section of approximately 0.750 kilometers will take you to the second parking spot, a few meters from the cache and the waterfall.

No GSM signal available ! We recommend to bring water with you. This cache is best in winter. During summer the waterfall could be dry

Questa cache dà il meglio di sè in autunno e primavera!
La cache è situata a pochi metri dalla cascata di "Su Strumpu" nei pressi della vecchia miniera denominata "Sa Scala 'e s'Acca".
E' un piccolo contenitore di capsule bianco.
Per raggiungerla dovrete attaraversare la vallata di Minderrì, un luogo molto suggestivo.
Tenete conto però che se non disponete di un SUV o un fuoristrada è consigliato parcheggiare il veicolo al punto P1 in quanto la strada potrebbe essere molto rovinata.
Il percorso infatti è molto apprezzato dagli amanti di bike-trek poichè prevede tratti molto impegnativi. Il percorso completo sino alla cache dalla statale 387 è di circa 8,6 km ed è visibile su questo sito
Il primo tratto prevede 5 km di strada asfaltata che conducono ad una lecceta secolare a quota 91m.Quest'area è anche attrezzata per pic-nic.
Da qui comincia una ripida salita e lo sterrato.
Dopo 1,2 km a quota 239m troverete un incrocio. Proseguite dritti verso sud.
Percorsi altri 1,8 km giungerete ad Arcu Battesarra, un punto panoramico a quota 377m.
L'ultimo tratto di circa 0,750km vi condurrà sino al secondo punto di parcheggio, a pochi metri dalla cache e dalla cascata.

-Note aggiuntive-
Scegliere il sito ideale per questa cache è stato un pò difficoltoso. A ridosso della cascata infatti la precisione del GPS scende sino a +-8m o più. Per non penalizzare quindi i possessori di GPS non troppo sensibili ho deciso per un punto accanto alla strada.
E'importante notare che la copertura di rete GSM è assente in questa zona.
Generalmente l'acqua è sempre presente nella cascata ma soprattutto nei periodi estivi è consigliato portarsi una scorta. La cascata è bellissima d'inverno, d'estate potreste trovarla secca.
