Geocache Description:

NOTE: Serious geocachers carry their own tools. There may or may not be a pen in the cache!

This is one of a series of caches that commemorate the fifteen Division 1-A football national championships* won by The University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Each cache represents one of the NC wins and includes a brief story about the team. Links to the other hides in this series can be found in the bookmark listing to the right.

*There is a lot of debate among fans, foes, and interested observers on the real number. The actual number lies between 10 and 20. See (visit link) if you are a glutton for punishment...At any rate, 15 is what is claimed by the University, so 15 caches. Deal with it.

This cache commemorates the 1926 Alabama Crimson Tide team. Fresh off a Rose Bowl victory over powerhouse Washington, head coach Wallace Wade led the 1926 Crimson Tide team as they powered their way to a 9-0-1 record and a return trip to the Rose Bowl in January 1927. Despite tying Stanford 7-7, the Crimson Tide was awarded a share of the National Championship by the pollsters.
