Geocache Description:

This memorial was constructed in the spring of 1911. It is unclear if this structure was erected as a tribute to Clara’s parents or her beloved husband. Large empty flower pots led the way on either side of the front steps. There is also a wreath carved on either side of the archway leading up to the front door. A gold decoration use to decorate the doors before the price of gold rose years ago. There is only one name inscribed on the monument (Clara’s father) even though six family members are remembered here including Clara herself.

I don’t think this is the tribute Clara wanted for her family. So let’s give Clara and her family the tribute she dreamed of giving to her loved ones.

This cache is located near Clara’s tribute to her beloved family. Cache is a camouflaged plastic bottle and contains a log only so please bring your own writing utensil. Please place cache back where you found it so others can enjoy.

This cache is only available during DAYLIGHT hours only. If this one simple rule is not followed then you will soon be visited by Shippensburg’s finest. Cache was placed with permission so please cache with respect.
