McMahan Chapel is Texas' First Methodist and Oldest Protestant Church.
The first building was constructed of logs in 1837.
The current building was built in 1949.
A beautiful area that you will want to take the time to walk around, see the stained glass in the chapel, read the history on the marker and just enjoy nature. There is a picnic area here if you want to take the time.
The history of the location dates back to 1831 and is given in good detail in the brochure available in the foyer of the chapel.
