Park on the dirt shoulder or at the woods clearing on Prospect Point RD. Woods roads wonder to lake side crossing point. Varried terrain.
This 3 inch pvc tube sits around a rock outcropping area on Liffy island in Lake Hopatcong and provides a nice view of the lake. Liffy Island Wildlife Preserve is TWP open space and traversing to it can be done in several ways.
1. By boat with a putt in location at the end of Jerry Rd at the beach and Jerry RD is at the end of North Lakeside AVE.
2. Crossing by ice.
3.By using the rock-layed road at its starting point (see waypoints) which is close to "Archived and Active" cache. This 200-foot road will be walkable dry when the lakes water is lowered due to drought or annual lowering during the winter months and often extends into the spring. I estimate the summer wading depth of about 24 inches. You will need a pair of shoes to get wet and a walking stick as stones may be slippery. Ratings will change due to water level and method of arrival to the island.
Some caches are a simple walk in the woods and others are an adventure...TQ.
