Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in honor of Matt Foley, Motivantional Speaker.

Those familiar with the Saturday Night Live skit know that Matt, played by Chris Farley, lived in a van down by the river. You can see the skit here

Ok, it’s not much of a van or a river but it’s such a great name for a cache. The first stage is the van where you will find the coordinates for the final stage. To find the van, park at the parking coordinates and follow the road to the blue gate. Go around the gate and on up the road. This cache doesn’t require a long hike but does cover some rough terrain. The second stage will take you across the “river” which is actually Turkey Run. The area was a mining operation where the tipple used to be. After the mine closed, people dumped their junk there. The van is part of an old dump so be careful, there is broken glass and rusty metal around. This area is now a Wilderness Management Area (public hunting) so expect mud, thorns, rough terrain, and various critters. I wouldn’t recommend this cache for children. Don’t try it at night. This cache is meant to be tough so don't expect a park and grab. The final is a 30 caliber ammo can.
