Geocache Description:

Number 376 in the Church Micro Series.

The Parish Church of All Saints, Staplehurst.

The church stands proud on top of Staplehurst Hill beside the old Roman Road, having stood there since 1100.

The north wall of the church may be Saxon and the South Door dates back to 1050 which is older than the church itself !!

The west tower (constructed from 1400-1425) houses ten bells, the oldest of which (the ninth) was cast in 1605.

The chapel was built in the fifteenth century and has it’s own private door. After the First World War the chapel was redecorated & renamed St. George’s Chapel and became the village war memorial.

The cache is the usual 35mm film canister. Please ensure it is left securely fastened and well hidden. Thank you.

PLEASE KEEP TO THE PAVED FOOTPATHS IN THE CHURCH GROUNDS.

When launched the cache contained a small pencil, but you might want to carry your own just in case.

If anybody would like to expand the Church Micro series please do, we would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names, to avoid duplication.
