Geocache Description:

Dear Geocachers,

We had a busy Christmas this year. It takes a couple of months after Christmas for us to get things all wrapped up. Sorry, no pun intended. Usually around March or April Santa releases us for a vacation. This is one of our favorite places to come. You see, many people think the small town here is only named after the nearby fort. In fact the fort got it's name from our visits way back then. We were on our spring break here in March 1836. A soldier spotted one of us and said, "Holy Christmas who is that!" The name stuck. Santa wasn't happy about us being seen but he had a good laugh about it. It's still talked about up in the pole. I think it was Herby who was spotted. At the time we thought he wasn't too bright but it turns out he wasn't such a nit wit after all. In fact he is our dentist. And a good one too!

When we were wrapping presents this year we noticed an awful lot of GPS devices and lap top computers. Rudolph turned a GPSr on and realized that they had the potential to put him out of business. Then while searching the web he found Geocaching.com. He thought the idea was pretty cool so when we came on vacation this year he came with us. He brought along a cache to hide. He was hoping it would distract Santa into believing the GPS phenomenon was just a big game. Santa wasn't fooled for a second. All the electronic gadgets in the world were not going to cause him to fire Rudolph. Imagine having to change the song to, "Garmin with your screen so bright...." That just wouldn't work. It also might alienate all the Magellan users.

We hid the cache for all to enjoy. We would have liked to have filled it with toys but that might take away some of the fun and anticipation of Christmas time. It's brightly colored with just a touch of camouflage to make it geocache like. Have a Merry Christmas all year long.

Sincerely, Santa's Helpers

PS. Santa says congrats to V8debbie for FTF
