Transilvania GeoQuest Event Cache

Welcome to the first edition of Transilvania GeoQuest! 

Experience the geocaching in a medieval town, feel the nature from the Sighisoara hills .

You will get to know towers, walls and bastions, streets, stairs and squares, bourgeois houses, monasteries and churches, schools, workshops and bridges. You will cross the bridge across centuries and epochs, between people, cultures and ways of being.

You will learn about German colonists, Hungarian kings, Romanian, Szekely, Polish, Greek, and Jewish peasants, craftsmen, and merchants, Tatar horsemen, Turkish armies, mercenaries. You will discover the traces they left in the urban and spiritual code of Sighisoara.

On your arrival you are kindly asked to register for the Transilvania Geoquest at the registration point (at the event/header coordinates) and you are requested to agree with the terms and conditions.

At  the registration point you will receive the GPX files (caches+bike tracks).

The easiest way to reach Sighisoara is by train. There are regular train routes from Wien, Praha, Budapest, Bucharest.
Another way to reach the city is through the Targu Mures International Airport, 40 km northwest of Sighisoara. The airport has regular routes to and from Budapest as well as fares between Targu Mures and major European destinations especially in southern Europe, Austria and Germany.
