Geocache Description:

A short flat walk along the Chesterfield canal from Shaw Bridge, Walkeringham Nature Reserve or Misterton.

Cache - A 1/3L clip lock container containing a log book, pen pencil and a few girly items.

Parking - At Shaw Bridge on the northern outskirts of Gringley, Walkeringham nature reserve or Coopers Bridge Misterton. The walk from any direction is flat, but can some times be a little wet in winter along the grass tow path.

Food & Drink - Gringley village at the Blue Bell Inn. Or in Misterton which has a cafe at the stables (South from wharf Bridge) and a Co Op (North from Wharf Bridge). Also three fast food outlets and a newly refurbished pub, The Red Hart Inn.

Bus Service. - A bus service is in operation between Hayton, Clayworth, Wiseton, Gringley and Misterton. This would enable one to drop off a car at one end Bus to the other and walk back along the Chesterfield canal taking in up to 9 caches and passing several locks and a tunnel. A distance of 16 km or 10 miles. Check www.Stagecoachbus.com/ for bus time table.

Terrain - Tow path, ok for off road buggies, mountain bikes and oldies.
