Farnham Ramble Rally #14 – Twin Peaks Multi-Cache
Kitey: The lack of visitors in the past few years was unfortunately making this series extremely high maintenance. On the last check 4 out of 5 caches had disappeared or were inaccessible due to changes in their locations. So time to go and free up the space for future caches. Thanks all who visited, we hope that you enjoyed the series.

When you have finished at FRR #13, follow the track East for 100m or so and then turn left (North) and head up the hill.
On this leg you are at your closest point to Farnham Castle. This is a convenient point to divert from the series and visit the Castle if you so wish.
Farnham Castle dates back to 1138 and was built by Henri de Blois, one of the grandsons of William the Conqueror. It is an impressive stone motte and bailey fortress, with a fine range of domestic buildings and a 15th century brick entrance tower. The formidable outer bailey curtain wall has square flanking towers and a 13th century gatehouse.
Farnham Castle was the home of the Bishops of Winchester for more than 800 years, but more recently, it has been an intercultural training and conference centre. The keep is managed by English Heritage and is open to the public (Entrance fee applies). The castle is set in 5 acres of gardens overlooking the picturesque town of Farnham.
