Geocache Description:

The cache is a camo-taped plastic container placed within sight of the Black Hawk County Landfill. Should be a grab and go. Original contents include a wide variety of interesting objects for trade. Remember the old saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure!" Original contents include the CITO Mother Earth Geocoin, which seemed very appropriate for the theme of this cache.

Since 1995, the Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission and the Black Hawk County Conservation Board have partnered together to offer free recycling education programs to schools and adult groups in Black Hawk County. This program is based out of Hartman Reserve Nature Center in Cedar Falls.

School programs offered cover a wide range of topics from Vermicomposting and Compost Critters to Making Recycled Paper. Adult programs include topics like Managing Household Hazardous Material, landfill tours, and Backyard Composting.
