Since we took our geocaching name from the main character of the Jules Verne novel Tour of the World in Eighty Days, more commonly known today as Around the World in Eighty Days, we decided it was time for a series in honor of the book. Hence, the cache series "Around Caroline in Eight Caches" was born. The series will bring you to areas literally around the county. Many of the caches will be located at spots along the county's boundary, however, this cache is not near the border. It is located at the "new" Caroline County Visitor Center. The center opened on November 22, 2008. The $2.6 million facility includes the 5,000 square foot Visitor Center, as well as a 2,000 square foot wing that houses the county's Economic Development and Tourism offices. Make sure to visit the Center when seeking the cache. You can pick up a map of the county to assist you in finding the other caches in the Around Caroline in Eight Caches series. Thanks goes to Kathy Beard, Tourism Director, for granting permission to place the cache. At the time of listing, Center employees were not aware of the cache location. The idea for placing this cache originated with the next to youngest member of the PFAS, the Alexgator, and so this cache "belongs" to him.
