Named for the two herds of horses and new colts that were around
the area when we placed this cache. Also for the way this area
looks when looking up to it from lower down the mountain. The cache
is a large ammo can. A tree and flat area is nearby and would make
a great picnic spot in the summer time. There are several ways into
this area, see additional wayponts for two starting
points.

We had seen this area while placing our other caches lower down the
mountain. We've been trying to get up here and look around for a
place to put a cache. Out wheeling and finally found the correct
road after trying some dead ends earlier in the day. The road down
to the cache from the top is fairly easy but requires a high
clearance vehicle. The road from the cache down is very rocky,
steep in places and sometimes hard to see as it wanders over some
rocky terrain, all but disappearing in a couple of places. However
is was shown on our GPS's as a trail/unpaved road. Going UP this
road is a 4x4 must.
