Welcome to the beautiful McGinnis Nature Reserve!
This cache is dedicated to
Jerry
McGinnis, who founded a company called Respironics in 1976.
Without him, you would not be walking on this property and enjoying
its beauty. Through his hard work and entrepreneurship, he was able
to donate it to the
Westmoreland
Conservancy in 2000. It is 52 acres and sits on a high
hillside. The woods are relatively young with a maturing stand of
pioneer trees in the higher elevations.
When you walk through the wooded paths of this nature reserve,
quietly reflect on your life's dreams and aspirations.
Please respect the flora and fauna during your visit at the
McGinnis Nature Reserve. Just park at N40° 28.835 W79° 40.350 which
is the parking area along Hunter Drive and follow the yellow blazed
trail up the hill. Please stay on the trail until your final
approach.
