"CREW – The Corkscrew
Regional Ecosystem Watershed – is a 60,000-acre watershed
spanning Lee and Collier Counties. CREW's majestic 5,000 acre marsh
is the headwater for the entire watershed which includes the famous
Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary directly to the south.
The CREW Marsh Hiking Trails, located on the northern edge of
the expansive 5,000 acre Corkscrew Marsh, offers 5.5 miles of paths
winding through spacious pine flatwoods, marsh vistas, shady oak
hammocks and pristine popash communities."

The Unusual Suspects: Join the C.R.E.W. Event is
a celebration CREW's 20th anniversary. On May 9th, the Unusual
Suspects Crew will unleash 28+ caches within the CREW trailsystem
including an Earthcache, Wherigo, Multi, Puzzles, Letterbox and
many traditional caches.
Our hope is to place nature-based, educational caches that
highlight some of the natural features, wildlife and plantlife on
the CREW Lands and help cachers cache responibly and sustainably in
a natural area. All caches will be placed within a few feet of
marked trails. There are over 5 miles of trails to be explored.
Trail maps and cache listings will be given out at 9 am to all
registered attendees. JunglePete's laptop will be available to
upload waypoints to most GPS units.
This is NOT a competition. There will be no prizes for FTFs or
finding all of the caches. We hope that cachers will have a relaxed
adventure in a pristine natural area and find as many smiley faces
as they care to find.
Ecuadorable will be providing fresh fruit and
juice from 8 am until 9 am. We will also have 15+ gallons of water
on hand. Please bring a reuseable water container (Bottles,
Camelbacks, etc) and feel free to refill and drink as much of our
water as you need. Bring a lunch but plan to pack out everything
you pack in.
