Wellamo Cache Raid 2009
 
Tupsuvuori Cliffs



This cache was created for the Wellamo Cache Raid 2009. On April 18th 2009 more than twenty cachers in the Päijänne Tavastia area decided to join forces and create a bunch of caches simultaneously to bring delight and despair to our fellow cachers.
The cache is on the steep cliffs of the cleft in the middle of a rocky ridge called Tupsuvuori just on the border of Asikkala and Sysmä communes. In the middle of the cleft there is a small lake and a road passes through it. The cliffs and the forests surrounding the ridge are full with vegetation, including a lot of rarities. Parts of the area are nature conservation areas and the ridge as a whole is protected by the Natura 2000 programme.

To avoid causing damage to the nature on the protected areas, I placed this cache on the North-Western cliff of the cleft near the road. From the cache there is a great view over the small lake to the cliffs on the other side. Take your time to enjoy the view.


Wellamo Cache Raid 2009 -kätkö. 18.4.2009 reilu parikymmentä Päijät-Hämäläistä kätköilijää yhdistivät voimansa ja julkaisivat kertaheitolla läjän kätköjä kanssakätköilijöitä ihastuttamaan ja vihastuttamaan.
Tämä kätkö on Tupsuvuoren kallioselänteen halkaisevan rotkon kallioisella seinämällä Asikkalan ja Sysmän kuntien rajalla. Rotkon keskellä on pieni järvi ja tie kulkee sen halki. Kallioilla ja niitä ympäröivässä metsässä on runsasta kasvillisuutta, mukana on myös harvinaisuuksia. Osa alueesta on luonnonsuojelualuetta ja koko selänne on mukana Natura 2000 ohjelmassa.

Jotta suojeltujen alueiden luonto ei vahingoittuisi, laitoin kätkön rotkon luoteisseinän kallioille tien läheisyyteen. Kätköltä on upeat näkymät pienen järven yli toisella puolella oleville kallioille. Tule tänne ajan kanssa nauttimaan näkymistä.
