Geocache Description:

A start or an end of a walk across the Golovec hill.

It's in the middle of the A1 motorway - but where is all the traffic?

Due to the vicinity to the city, Golovec hill is a popular recreational destination for citizens of Ljubljana, be it for the morning or afternoon jogging, walking a dog, cycling, or just enjoying fresh air on a leisure walk. The cache area can serve as a destination for walks across Golovec from the town, or as a starting point for walks in the opposite direction, thanks to the vicinity of a road to Orle (visit link)

For access with buses of a city public transport (visit link) take line 3, direction Rudnik, and ride all the way to the end-of-line stop to get close to the far side of Golovec, or descend at a stop Strelišče just after crossing the river (Gruberjev prekop) if you are onto a longer walk across the hill (one hour or more one way). Or for a good compromise cut it half way and start in the middle: in London, bus stop Peruzzijeva, 4th stop after crossing the river, and follow the white gravel paved walkway PST (visit link) about half of the way to the cache, then split right onto a forest trail, about 50 minutes altogether.

The cache is a small 0.8 litre plastic box. It was placed to its location on 2009-01-24, but we were holding back the publishing, waiting for a little more hospitable weather in Spring. The small 0.3 l original box was replaced by a larger one on 2011-11-06, and again on 2014-11-16.

P.S. Kids (big or small), about 500 m from the cache (at N46° 01.387', E014° 33.458'), take a good look at a large tree, way up there. Is there a bear? Does he have company?

Sredi avtoceste smo - a kje je ves promet?

Zaradi bližine mestu je Golovec priljubljen cilj meščanom željnim rekreacije - tam srečujemo jutranje ali popoldanske tekače, sprehajalce s psom, kolesarje in druge iskalce svežega zraka. Kjer se nahaja zakladek lahko služi kot cilj poti čez greben, ali pa kot začetek poti v obratni smeri proti mestu, saj se lahko v bližino tudi pripeljemo s kolesom ali avtomobilom po Poti na Orle. Z avtobusom ljubljanskega potniškega prometa (visit link) se lahko odpeljemo s progo 3 v smeri Rudnik vse do končne postaje - malo pred njo tik pred bencinskem servisom na levi strani se prične Pot na Orle. Lahko pa daljšo pot (vsaj uro v eno smer) začnemo pri Karlovškem mostu in se vzpnemo po cesti mimo AGO (visit link) . Dober kompromis je srednja pot iz Londona, avtobusna postaja Peruzzijeva (t.j. za mostom čez Gruberjev prekop četrta postaja na progi 3), kjer najprej sledimo cesti čez Golovec, od nje pa se na prvem ovinku odcepi Pot spominov in tovarištva (PST) (visit link) , nekje na pol poti preden se PST spet pridruži cesti pa jo zapustimo in nadaljujemo naravnost po gozdni poti do cilja, skupaj kakšnih 50 minut hitrejše hoje.

Zakladek je 0.8 litrska posoda iz umetne snovi. Na svoje mesto je bila postavljena 24. januarja 2009, a z objavo je bilo vredno počakati na prijetnejše pomladno vreme. Prvotno 0.3 l škatlico je zamenjala večja 2011-11-06, in ponovno 2014-11-16.

P.S. Otroci (veliki in majhni), slabih 500 m od zaklada (na N46° 01.387', E014° 33.458'), visoko gori na drevesu: je tisto medved? Ali ima družbo?
