The cache is located along highway #58 just across the East end of Trestle # 20 on the Creeper Trail. Park at N36 37.838 W081 45.322 Elevation 2132. The Terrain rating is a 4 due to steepness. Just as a reminder if your physical condition won't allow you to climb steep terrain or you don't have 10 extra minutes while biking down the VCT just keep going.
Gary kept sneaking off somewhere to practice and wouldn’t tell me where. Had to sneak out one evening and follow him using the stealth I have developed from caching. I must warn you that if you proceed with looking for this cache in Gary’s new studio it would be advisable to take someone with you.
OK I see from your attitude about caching you have decided to go on to his practice studio alone.
Let's get back to the story and stick with the facts, after observing Gary’s new practice area I came back one evening just before dark. I walked across trestle #20 on the Creeper Trail and after getting off the East end I headed up a path to the right. Just had to see what was so special about the place. After a short steep climb I got to the top( Elev. 2197) and set down to a beautiful over look of the creek and creeper trail running along highway 58 with the high ridge behind it. All of a sudden after hearing a faint buzzing sound I felt as if I wasn’t alone in the woods anymore. What I saw as I Looked over my shoulder like to have stopped my heart. There stood two female skeeters about three feet tall and talking to each other as if I wasn’t even there. I knew they were female by the way they had their wings propped on their hips. I’ve seen that look at home before when Mrs. Eagle wasn’t happy with something I’d done. One of those girls said to the other “Should we eat him here or take him back to the nest”. The other one snapped back quickly and said,” Let’s eat him here because if we take him home the “biggens” will take him away from us”. That’s when I hung the cache up in a small hemlock to look like a little lantern giving you light to find the cache. Then I rolled off that hill as they stood and argued about the FTB (first to bite).
So if you decide to go up there and take a chance of being skeeter grub here is the size of the cache. It is a small container just like all the other Mini Maid series before except it is hanging and only has a log to sign. BYOP If you have time from looking over your shoulder replace the cache as you found it for the enjoyment of the ones to follow. Buzzzzzzzzzzz! Did you hear something?
Thanks
