Snowshoe Firetower
On the mountain across the basin from Snowshoe is a fire tower that views the forest from Snowshoe to Cheat Mountain. If it is a clear day, don't get this cache without checking the view from the top. Be careful if you have children the tower is not safe for them to climb unaccompanied. If it is Windy be very careful. Hope you're not afraid of heights.
Do not try to get this cache without first checking out a map of the trails. The trail Bailout is the shortest to get to the cache, but the trail head has been occupied by a family of beavers. It is also a steep hike. You can also park at the Sunrise Cabin and walk or ride bikes to the fire tower on a flat road.
If you are staying at Snowshoe they have a series of Geocaches set up around the resort that you can get by renting one of their GPS units. They have one close to this tower also, so watch out for touristcachermuggles.
