Starting in the late 1800's a railroad was built that eventually ran all the way up to Rumsey in the Capay Valley from the spur leaving in Elmira. This was taken apart piece by piece and the last trains ran in this area in the 1980's. This is one of the places where you can see what is left. Please place the cache back carefully so this one lasts!
If you would like to check out more about this long forgotten
railroad...check out the wiki on it.
Due to the steep terrain near this hide, parents are advised to keep children away and please watch your step. No parking at the cache site. Park at nearby public business parking and walk over the bridge on the road.
