We fell in love with this plantation of Fagus last Autumn when walking through the forest plantations after finding "Come for a Walk Stoodley". The golden light filtering through the foliage and the thick cover of Autumn leaves for the C.Eyrettes to play in made this a special occasion. We have been back several times since the cache is close (i.e. under 50 m) to the Tasman Trail and have enjoyed the changing faces of the forest. In summer the light greenish hue is mystical and nothing like anything that I have seen in Australia. The Forest Walk trail takes about an hour to complete and is a bit hilly and some signs require maintenance and are challenging to interpret. The pinus radiata to the north of the cache is among the tallest in the world towering a good 60 m high. The Tasman trail takes quite a bit longer to complete and travels some towering hills.... Obviously there are many places where the cache could be hidden so keep your search 1.5m above the ground.

The cache was missing and has now been replaced in a slightly different location.
GPS reception in the area is a little erratic, especially when using a phone. Hence the following additional information is provided. The cache is now a 500ml flat sistema in the fork of a multi-trunk fagus tree about 1.7m above ground level. Most fagus trees in the area are multi-trunked but there is one that is very distinctive. It is a very tall single trunk tree with a broken limb at a height of about 2m. The tree with the cache is about 5m west of this distinctive tree.
Please ensure that the cache is well covered by sticks and other suitable materials which will not blow off.
