Contrary to the storybooks, the average pirate lived a short and inglorious life frought with peril and often small or no reward. All his worldly possessions were often carried upon his person as he would be away from home for years at a time sailing. Often his wealth would be carried not in the form of coin, but rather directly upon his person in the form of various jewelery or even buttons on his clothing. When one served on a ship that might be sunken on any day, it was good sense to keep any valuables near at hand.
Many pirates were not so lucky in their travels and might end up in shallow, unmarked graves far from home with only some small tokens of bribe for the riverman to carry them across the River Styx in the afterlife laid upon their eyes.
So think twice about the life of a pirate lest you share their demise!
This poor fellow finally gave up after plying his trade on the Mountain Mud Reservoir and finally abandoned ship. After a particularly harrowing storm he sought refuge on high ground, but should have paid more attention to where he took shelter. The local denizens made short work of him. What remains should be easy to find...
Parents please keep a close eye on the young ones as you approach ground zero.
