This cache is placed beside a right of way offering an unusual view of Cynghordy Viaduct. This beautiful structure was built in the early 1880s to fill in the then gap in the central Wales railway line from Llanelli to Shrewsbury. There is still a service of four trains either way daily.
Accessing the cache involves crossing a footbridge and then a walk of about 100 metres along a sometimes muddy track. GPSr reception is appalling- hills, trees and the viaduct itself all get in the way! To put your hand on the cache, you will need to take two steps off the footpath. Don't worry, the farmer is friendly. Otherwise normal precautions about being muggled apply but there are risks about being mugged by the resident sheep who take a keen interest in plastic containers... Beware!
