Geocache Description:

**** Cache refreshed 20/1/24 ****** The Cache is located in Terrum-Bine Reserve, quite close to a very old tree. Gran’pa Terrum-Bine is a magnificent Blackbutt approximately 50 metres high and is thought to be over 400 years old making it one of the oldest trees in the area. Best parking is at the old tree. Flowing behind the tree is a creek. When the Wilkos placed the cache they saw a very large Bearded Dragon and have also seen Eels and Yabbies. You need to (carefully) cross the creek - the rocks can be slippery. You will find plants like the Elk Horn and the Bird's Nest Fern, but remember they are protected plants. Cross the creek using the stepping stones directly behind Gran’pa Terrum-Bine and when you clamber out of the creek you come across a large fallen tree to your right which points uphill towards a very large eucalyptus tree. Head for that tree, the GZ is to the left of the eucalypt. Use the hint if you need another clue. Please enjoy this remarkable piece of urban bush and look after it. The cache is a largish Decor lunchbox type container. It has a pencil in it (and sharpener) and there is plenty of space for swapables and trackables. A new logbook is in place. WARNING: RABzilla was mercilessly attacked by a pair of very mean leeches on his first visit to this cache. You may wish to use some insect repellent to avoid the same happening to you. History of this cache from the Wilkos: The original container here (replaced by RABzilla on 20/1/24) was originally located in Tasmania http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga1070 and on the 1st of March a Muggle came across the Cache, wrote “Bon Voyage” in the log book, replaced the lid and threw the lot into Bass Straight. Remarkably the Cache was washed up on a beach a few kilometres east at Sulphur creek. A beach walking Muggle found it and wondering what it was, opened the Cache and noticed that the only identifiable thing was a Travel Bug. The good Muggle then joined Geocaching.com to get the email address of the TB owners and made contact. The TB owners sent the Muggle a return paid envelope for the TB to come home however the good Muggle posted the whole container. The Wilkos then spent some time hunting down the origins of the unknown Cache. Eventually it was tracked down and the owner contacted, although this task was made a little more difficult by it being a GA rather than GC registered Cache. The Wilkos thought with a past like this, the “Blessed Cache” had to come back to life so it could call Sydney home. Unfortunately, time and Mother Nature have made the container unsuitable to continue so it has been retired by RABzilla.
