Geocache Description:


The Yellow Pinch Reserve is a small park at the base of Barney, which can be used as a rest stop if you are touring the area or for accessing the mountain.

Mt Barney which at 1355m is the highest mountain in South East Queensland. The park offers access to Mt Barney, though this for experienced bushwalkers only (Class 5 track).The first european to climb the mountain was Captain Patrick Logan and a memorial commerating this can be found at Rathdowney.

Camping was once permitted at Yellow Pinch, but not anymore, though it is available nearby at Mt Barney Lodge, Flanagans Reserve or Bigriggen.
