Geocache Description:

Seguiu la carretera de Oix a Beget fins al waypoint indicat on recomano aparcar i seguir a peu tot i que la pista és bona // Follow the road from Oix to Beget until the Waypoint. I recommend parking the car and follow the track walking, although the track is in good condition.

A l’exterior s’hi veuen mènsules esculpides representant caps, monstres i brucranis.

In a place open to all winds, dominating the strategic col of Bestracà and enjoying an extraordinary view on all the Garrotxa of west, the church of Sant Andreu is like a kind of lonely sentry in the middle of the mountains.

It is a matter of a construction of the 12th century, of round apse and turn pointed out. In the requirement brackets are seen sculpted representing heads, monsters and brucranis. The door, pointed at midday, has a cross in relief. In west, belfry of two eyes truncated in the upper part. A romanic baptismal sink is stil in there. In the museum Diocesà de Girona are kept the vessels of relics that were in the altar when the restoration of year 1964 was carried out. Sant Andreu de Bestrecà had been parroquia, but in 1608 it had gone to depending on that of Sant Miquel de Pera.
