In the manor's park Multi-Cache

The Monniais castle isn't one of the best examples of the XIXth century architecture but its park, created by the Bülher brothers who also designed the nice Thabor and Oberthür parks in Rennes, provides a nice and varied walk.

• First, go to visit a statue of the Virgin Mary, located in a small cave (without miracles alas!) at point N48 06.533 W1 36.086. Let A be the number of "branches" on the crown.
• Then visit the arboretum in the park and locate a pyramidal oak (Quercus robur fastigiata) at point N48 06.572 W1 36.000 (don't be fooled by its shape!). Embrace the trunk and measure its diameter, knowing that one may approximate arm span by the height. Let B be the diameter in meters divided by 2, rounded to the inferior integer.
• Finally go around a small and dark pond and find some bald cypresses with their remarkable roots at point N48 06.598 W1 35.919. Let C be the tens' digit on the numbers of the nearest oak and nearest cypress. Let B = C-B-A.
• The cache is at point N48 0C.C57 W1 36.DD4 among quite high "grass".

Le "château" de la Monniais n'est pas un fleuron de l'architecture du XIXème siècle mais les promenades dans son parc sont agréables, même si son environnement s'est dégradé depuis la construction de la ligne LGV.

• Commencer par aller voir une Sainte Vierge, dans une grotte comme il se doit (point N48 06.533 W1 36.086). Soit A le nombre de "branches" à sa couronne.
• Ensuite parcourir l'arboretum autour du manoir et approchez vous d'un chêne pyramidal (Quercus robur fastigiata) à la forme trompeuse (point N48 06.572 W1 36.000). Embrasser le pour mesurer sa circonférence, sachant que votre envergure correspond grosso-modo à votre taille. Soit B la circonférence en mètres divisée par deux, en arrondissant à l'entier inférieur.
• Puis aller faire un tour du coté d'un étang assez sombre et s'arrêter devant quelques cyprès chauves aux racines caractéristiques (point N48 06.598 W1 35.919 ). Les numéros d'un chêne et d'un cyprès ont le même chiffre des dizaines, noté C. Soit D=C-B-A.
• Enfin rejoindre la cache au milieu des "herbes" (point N48 0C.C57 W1 36.DD4).
