Geocache Description:

A paddling cache on Milldam Creek.

The first stop on a string of caches along eastern Milldam Creek. This cache is located east of Blackwater Road in a very scenic marsh which is abundant with birds. Milldam creek east of Blackwater Road is classified as a Wind-Tidal Oligohaline Marsh and a Wind-Tidal Shrub Swamp. It is about a 4.5 mile round trip to find the 4 caches east of Blackwater Road . This section of the creek is much rather large and subject to winds and currents.

The water level was at 6 inches on the meter west of the road and the cache can be easily retrieved without leaving your boat. Parking is available along the side of Blackwater Road near the bridge.  Launching can be pretty tricky so be careful. If the water level is above the 1 foot mark you most likely will not be able to paddle under the bridge.

Congratulations to Vabikerider for the FTF.
