Geocache Description:

This is the first of a series of Troll Cache's across West Lancashire.

The word 'troll' is the root for many words in the realm of magic and the supernatural in the Scandinavian languages. To practice magic is trolla in Swedish and trolsk is a Norwegian word describing something magical and eerie.

Humans and trolls often come into conflict because trolls are territorial and claim an area around the entrance to their homes, because they like to take valuables and because they often possess caches of great riches, not only in gold and silver, but also in magic objects.

Trolls are seldom intelligent and often downright stupid. Although they can smell an uninvited visitor, a clever human can always fool them by telling a tale of far off lands and places.

Trolls and their caches may live anywhere but rarely close to humans. Some Trolls live under bridges according to Billy Goats Gruff, but you can find Trolls living in forests, caves, gardens and backyards.

To see any Trolls, it helps to have your Fairytale Eyes and Ears open….

This wise and industrious troll 'Nespolo', lives at the borders of cultivated lands, which he protects. He is beneficial for any kind of job and he brings abundance of good luck and treasure to all whom meet him and his cache...
