Geocache Description:

The area is open to the public from dawn to dusk. Be sure to only park in designated areas. The best parking to get this cache is Track & Field lot. Do NOT drive on the dirt road. You can walk it, but only drive on paved roads. The cache is a Bison tube with log only. BRING YOUR OWN PEN. This cache is placed with permission of appropriate Winthrop University officials.

It is hidden in an area known as Winthrop Lake or The Farm. This area is now a large athletics and recreation area. The name "The Farm" comes from the fact that this used to be farm land used to grow food for Winthrop University. On the grounds now are the Winthrop Coliseum, several softball fields, a baseball stadium, a ropes course, soccer fields, a 9-hole golf course, a lake, a 1.1 acre wetlands area, a disc golf course and a building called "The Shack" which is used for various events. This area is home to many types of bird such as blue herons and great herons. The area immediately around the lake is used by sunbathers, kite flyers and others.

There could be golfers around since this is along one side of the course so watch for muggles in silly pants and hats. :)
